As many of Dr. Sherrard’s patients know, Dr. Sherrard has provided transitional and windup care for his patients during the last month at his Quispamsis clinic with the generous support of a number of local dentists and their amazing support staff. He sincerely appreciates the patience, support and kindness shown by so many people during this time. Dr. Sherrard plans to continue to offer this transitional care at his Quispamsis Clinic over the next month when staffing can be arranged.

In order to provide continuing care to those patients who had paid in full, Dr. Sherrard originally made arrangements with Doc Braces in Moncton, a clinic where he provided locum services, to be able to offer patients a longer term solution who were early on or part way through treatment.   While this solution was not ideal given the travel commitment, many patients appreciated this as an option.

Dr. Sherrard continued to look for a viable option to treat those particular patients locally and fortunately Dr. Sherrard has now made arrangements to provide continued care through a local clinic.   As committed, those who were eligible for continued care with Dr. Sherrard will be contacted shortly to make arrangements for their appointment and will be advised which clinic they should attend at the time of booking.

Please be aware that Dr. Sherrard continues to be without any full-time support staff.  We continue to ask for your patience while we respond to emails as quickly as we are able.

Dr. Sherrard wishes to also extend his appreciation to the management of Doc Braces for being the first to offer a longer term care solution and their support during this time.

Sadly, after much heartfelt consideration, we intend to wind up our practice in an orderly manner and would like to sincerely thank the local community and our patients for their support in coming to this difficult decision.

Once the decision was made that we would not be able to reopen the office, we reached out immediately to the NB Dental Society to work through the logistics of ensuring our patients are transitioned to an orthodontist of their choosing.  While those plans are being developed, please know that we are monitoring voicemails for emergencies and will be reaching out to each of our patients to discuss transferring their patient records as soon as we are in a position to do so.

After receiving direction from the NB Dental Society, we wish to assure all patients that your records are being safely maintained and can be transferred to an orthodontist of your choosing.    We wish to extend our appreciation to our orthodontic colleagues from the area who have reached out to offer support to our office and to discuss the easiest means to ensure our patients have continuity of care and continued access to their records.    We understand and appreciate that your ongoing care cannot be delayed but unfortunately, staffing remains an issue in the industry and no one local office can accommodate all patients.

Once an alternate provider has seen you for a consultation and has taken over your orthodontic care, you can complete the attached transfer form and email it to: transfer@bringbackthesmiles.com and we will ensure your file is transferred as soon as possible.

For those patients on a payment plan, we have requested the cessation of all scheduled payments and have not triggered any payments since our initial temporary closure at the end of March,  but we would encourage you to contact your banking institution to ensure that such payments are not inadvertently made.  For the vast majority of our patients who are with Invisalign, we have arranged that all digital treatment plans and files will be transferred without additional cost from Invisalign to ensure continuity of your treatment.  For those patients who have ordered and were waiting on the delivery of appliances or retainers, we will arrange to transfer any appliances that we receive along with your patient record to your chosen practitioner.

If you have further questions or concerns, the email address of the clinic info@bringbackthesmiles.com and phone (506) 849-2287 continue to be monitored and kindly ask for your patience as we respond as soon as we can.
